FAQs - Breastmilk Storage Bags
Are Lansinoh® Breastmilk Storage Bags BPA-free?
Yes, our Breastmilk Storage Bags are BPA, BPS, and Phthalate free.
How is the measurement on the Breastmilk Storage Bags read?
Because the Breastmilk Storage Bags are flexible, the measurement shown can vary depending on the shape of the bag when viewed. To measure the breastmilk in the bag, it is recommended to gently tap the bottom of the bag against a hard surface, as this will allow the folds along the bottom of the bag to fully open. The most accurate measurement will be in a hard-plastic container like a bottle; and up to 6oz of milk may be transferred into the storage bag.
What is the best way to thaw a frozen Breastmilk Storage Bag?
When thawing breastmilk, please remember to handle it as gently as possible to preserve all the valuable nutrients. If time is not an issue, the frozen Breastmilk Storage Bags can be thawed in the refrigerator or at room temperature. Pressed for time? Try placing the frozen sealed bag in a bowl of warm tap water; please never use extremely hot or boiling water on a stovetop. DO NOT microwave frozen milk storage bags as this process may destroy nutrients in the milk and create dangerous “hot spots.”
Is it possible to pump directly into the Breastmilk Storage Bags?
Yes, you can pump directly into the bags with any Lansinoh® pump. To pump directly into the bag with a non-Lansinoh® pump, a pump-into-bag adapter is required (sold separately). See more information and link to compatible pumps here .
What is the best way to store my Breastmilk Storage Bag after it’s filled?
We recommend removing excess air from the bag and double-checking to ensure it is not overfilled. When zipping close, make sure your bag is sealed all the way to the ends. Lay flat to freeze. To protect the bags from contact with other frozen items or freezer surfaces, place flat bags in a container or freezer bag.
Are the Breastmilk Storage Bags reusable?
No, the Breastmilk Storage Bags are for one-time use only.
Are the Breastmilk Storage Bags recyclable?
Yes, the Breastmilk Storage Bags are recyclable. They fall under the #4 recyclable category which includes bags, merchandise bags, pharmaceutical, packaging, etc. Clean and dry the bag before recycling.
